[DM-MUG] Mac that won't 'start up'?

I've seen this in many laptops, mostly non-mac, though.  I suspect the
computer gets stuck somewhere between sleep/hibernate mode and on.
Unplugging alone doesn't fix it because the battery is still
sustaining the sleep mode.  Only pulling the battery and the power
cable resets them.

I guess you could say this is a comatose state for laptops?
