[DM-MUG] DMMUG's consideration of Dues

I'm in a breakfast club and we have Regular members who pay dues and
Non-Resident members etc. The NRs pay much less. It does seem to
make some sense to have a small amount of money from everyone so
everyone has a stake in the group. Not sure how we'd police it = I
guess we'd do it on the honor system = everyone pays either Regular
or NR dues and if you don't pay, you'll be sad but we're not going to
police it = other than we could post non payers on the web! [joke]

I like the mini-presentation and roundtable ideas..the problem will
be finding topics and people to contribute. We did try this awhile
ago and can again. But it's necessary to have a Topic = maybe we
could assign one general topic to each month = i.e., Free/Shareware
in Feby., Maintenance in Jan, Networking another month etc. Then we
can ask for volunteers = I am getting inquiries from vendors who want
to do presentations or iChats with us...there are resources out
there, but some do cost $$$.

Not to mention that whoever puts together programs has to take time
to do it = and getting info on the web requires Dave McLaughlin's
scheduling and abilities, we don't want to impose too much on him.

As a lawyer I have a Trust account and have to maintain it even if
there is -0- money in it and I'm not doing that much these days.
It wouldn't be a great problem if everyone sent $$ to me, I'll put it
in the Trust Acct. in an account for DMMUG and provide an accounting
to the list and then we'll have a kitty.]

Because of my schedule, if people are going to contribute and if
Bryan is going to renew the name, we need the contributions no later
than July 24th [Friday before renewal is due].

Send your contributions [I suggest at least $10 for Regular and $3-5
for contributory non members. That would be good through the end of
this year and we could revisit the topic in January. And if you want
to send more, feel free.
