[DM-MUG] VERY IMPORTANT, for all MUG members - and respond.

Back in the day, dues came up and we decided not to have them since
the group had very few expenses.
For those of you relatively new members, I was active in the late 90s
and made a few meetings after 2000, but I live in Chicago now, which
makes attending a week night meeting impossible. I still enjoy the
mailing list.
For reference, dues in the Chicago groups are $40-50 a year, which
makes the $10 per year originally discussed quite reasonable.
I have led groups in the past and can tell you how frustrating it is
to spend hours preparing a program and have no one or only a small
number of people attend. If you are able to attend and value the
physical meetings, please show your leaders some support and make an
effort to show up when you are able.
Apple is moving their energy to the iPhone/iPod Touch. It might be a
good time to investigate welcoming any Apple user, even if their Apple
poduct is connected to one of those "other" computers. :)
Obviously, these decisions need to be made by people who live close
enough to Des Moines to attend meetings and support the group. These
suggestions are just that, suggestions, not commands. :)
