It's a security bug.  If you go to a web site that exploits the bug  
they can basically look at anything on you Mac.  You will not "notice"  
the problem.

Another solution is to use Firefox

Since I personally prefer Safari over Firefox as a browser, I  
installed RCDefaultApp as indicated by the site

With Apple, sometimes they patch security holes quickly and sometimes  
it takes several months.

The only reason I brought up this one at all, is that this particular  
security breach has a wide scope (the contents of you Mac being  
exposed) if someone happens to take advantage of the bug.
