I have Growl as an add-on to the Adium instant message multi-platform. It also can be turned on/setup for using with Firefox and Yahoo instant messanger, and networked server connections. I like Adium for the real-time mail updates for all the common web-based email hosts such as Yahool, AOL, Facebook, GooogleTalk, MyspaceIM, Hotmail/MSN, Jabber, .Mac, LiveJournal, etc. Entourage will also give instant email notifications if left running (can close or minimize the window) I was never able to figure out the configuration settings in Entourage. I went through many instructions and tips on the internet, but it just never seemed to work to configure it for an exchange server account. So if anyone has any advice let me know.
