Mauri said it all--getting involved with the Mac Users Group is a very
good thing. In our visiting afterwards it was said that people don't
need "users groups" anymore. I'm always reminded of my mentor when i
was a wee teenager--a very long time ago i might add. He was a world
renown authority on horses. He had his Ph.D. in something regarding
horses. He was a professor in the Animal Husbandry Department at ISU.
He was invited all around the world to give programs on horses. Yet,
forty years or so into his career, he told me often that every day he
learned something new about horses and the day he didn't was the day
he'd quit because it would mean he had closed his mind to learning. I
will never come close to what you all know about computers and Macs in
particular; but every day there is something new and highly useful to
learn and i thank all of you for sharing your knowledge. It is a true
gift.

Anyway, so much for my little digression. I could use some advice. I
have a HP laptop that my husband used when he was with the railroad.
It has XP on it. I am giving it to my brother-in-law. The problem is
it could have some sensitive information on it and i want to clean the
hard drive before i hand it over. I have read lots of info online, but
am not sure how to proceed and would very much appreciate any advice
you can give me.

Thank you and it was great seeing and meeting every one last evening.
I'll be most happy to bring food to the next meeting.

Anne Wiebe
