One piece of software is imperative...  MultiClutch.  It allows you to  
remap what the gestures do.  I suggest setting it so that the pinch in  
Safari does a Command-Option-Control-Space (in other words absolutely  
nothing) rather than destroying the ability to read a website.

It's also free.
