If before this post you were not aware of O'Reilly the computer book
publisher, then consider yourself now informed. I performed a query
on the O'Reilly web site and used Mac as the search term. That query
returned 4,721 hits. Follow this link to see the results. http://search.oreilly.com/?q=Mac

This is the Des Moines Mac User Group. The Mac is a computer. The
operating system on the Mac is OS X and it is UNIX based.
Specifically, Mac OS X is based upon the Mach kernel and contains
parts from FreeBSD and NetBSD. FreeBSD and NetBSD are open-source.
Matt as you stated, O'Reilly is a publisher of books leaning toward
open-source but you forgot to mention UNIX. O'Reilly publishing is
completely relevant to OS X from a technological standpoint. In my
opinion I serious doubt you will find a more relevant collection of
information on the Mac, period.

The original post included a hard link to the web site that verified
it was in fact O'Reilly the technology book publisher. How could one
confuse that. This is a computer enthusiast web forum. Why would
anyone "assume" any topic is political and create a negative public
response in the forum. And thank you again Ms. Herring for sharing
this valuable link to the uninformed users of UNIX technology.
