The fastest they would sell to you would be 7 megs but I think you're 
far enough from the CO that you're probably on a 3 or 5 meg speed. The 
pricing is the same for 3, 5, and 7 however.

That's probably a good idea...

I have basic cable, my own Internet service, and my own phone service, 
so my prices are artificially low :-)

I don't think you 'own' the directv equipment even though they charge 
you for it. If you do cancel they will occasionally ask for you to mail 
it back.

I would say stick with DSL, landline, and DirecTV. It all does jump a 
bit when your promotions expire though...
