[DM-MUG] old Filemaker files/Classic mode

I'm going to be getting a new iMac, probably this week, but I can't
find out if my old Filemaker files can be opened by either a current
version of FM or by Bento (which appears to be "Filemaker Light")? I
have Filemaker Pro 3 and have several sizeable databases that I've been
using via Classic OS on my iMac G4 running 10.3.9 for many years. Since
there will be no Classic on my new iMac, I hate to have to rebuild them
from scratch.
From the looks of it, Bento is all the database I need in terms of
features & capacity. Will Bento open FM 3 files? Do I need to purchase
FM 10 which is a lot pricier than Bento, and if I do, will it open FM 3
files? Another solution I've seen mentioned is to somehow upgrade the
old files to a newer FM version that can be opened by either Bento or
FM 10. Does anyone know if this is feasible?
As a last resort, are there any 3rd-party options for running Classic
applications?
Many thanks!
Jeff
