[DM-MUG] Question on Backup Scheme

My external hard drive enclosure has two bays with two 1.5 TB drives
and it provides two options: JBOD or RAID 0. I've read that OS X
software mirroring is not a good option since the files must be
written twice. I'm operating on Firewire 400 editing DV in Final Cut.
