[DM-MUG] Question on Backup Scheme

Greetings,

I recently installed a firewire HD enclosure and configured it with  
dual 1.5 TB drives configured as JBOD.  The purpose of the enclosure  
is to store Final Cut DV editing projects on one 1.5 TB drive and  
provide a redundant copy on the other drive.

I want to backup one drive to the other daily. I only want to backup  
the files that have changed and I want the backup to mirror the  
original exactly.  Ultimately if one drive malfunctions I want a copy  
ready to continue.

I don't want to use Software RAID mirroring because I read that it can  
affect the data throughput performance since files are being written  
twice, and  don't want to use Timemachine since it's already used to  
backup my systems drive.

Would Carbon Copy Cloner be a good alternative for this backup scheme?
