Probably not, it's just an application doing something stupid.

Have you tried "Reset Safari..." under the Safari menu?  It does wipe  
everything, cookies and history.

What plug-ins are you using "Help -> Installed Plug-ins"

They might help narrow the problem.

Oh... your using the Safari "4 Public Beta".

I personally wait for final versions and let others be pioneers (i.e.  
faces in the mud with arrows in the back).

You can also switch to Firefox (yes, it's slower) especially if you  
have problems with specific pages.
