Thanks to Bailey for his discussion of scanning last night. I have  
done some scanning but his discussion taught me a lot. He listed the  
steps which we should take in making a good image from a scan. Two  
items which he emphasized were over scan (higher resolution), reduce  
size.   He also explained what moire is and what to do about it. Jon  
Thompson was his assistant.
