[DM-MUG] G4 tower ZIP drive bay

I was just nosing around a G4 I bought used and found that it has a ZIP
drive in the bay beneath the optical drive,  but it is obscured by a panel
on the front, presumably not the correct/original panel since an
inaccessible ZIP drive has no value (not that a ZIP drive is terribly
valuable anyway).

If I pull the ZIP drive out, will an IDE drive fit in that bay?
