[DM-MUG] Printing in a no-grid situation

Not exactly the answer you want, but if you need "no-grid" printing  
solution, look at the Canon i80 or any newer iteration of it.  Get  
yourself a wind/solar/human-powered battery recharger, and you're good  
to go.  Oh, and you get color, too - albeit slowly.  We've got one at  
the office and it is reliable, though slow compared to most newer B&W  
lasers.

FWIW, my own solution would be to get one of these to power the  
printer in an off-grid environment:
