[DM-MUG] Wireless mouse flaking out

I've used an older model wireless mouse I bought from someone on this group
successfully ever since I got it several months ago, but it started
disconnecting a lot and now finally, it won't connect at all. The light
comes on but it won't connect.

I cleaned it, changed batteries, tried reconnecting through System
Preferences, and cussing at it, but nothing seems to work. I went to Apple
Support on line and saw where many people have reported the same experience
but no one seemed to have any answers. Do any of you?
