For photo editor, try Gimp. It's free and pretty powerful when you learn how to use it.

In iPhoto there is a way to do it I think but SysPrefs/Desltops isn't that hard - go under the Apple menu in the top L to get there fast
3. Does anyone know of a very cheap but nice graphics editor. I used to use Photoshop light or some other software that came with my scanner but the software I have currently either doesn't work with the Intel Machine or doesn't really go beyond the basics when it comes to fixing photos.
Photoshop Elements 4 is $99 and does everything you might need = lots of people like Graphics Converter as well, but I don't use it. --
