At last count on friday, there were at least 20 copies of the family (multi-user/5 computer) pack,
and there's still probably 15 copies of the individual copies. The family pack is not on the shelf
due to recent changes required in regards to loss prevention, so ask a sales person to assist.
Make sure to back up your files before the upgrade. Apple sent a rep last Monday whom updated all
the laptops and some of the iMacs from 10.4 Tiger to 10.5 Leopard. Friday saw another $100 price
drop on older mac models. one older (White casing) 24" iMac demo remains for purchase. Saturday
shipment saw a good dozen of the new 20" (brushed metal casing) iMac.
Don't forget your apple care. CompUSA really doesn't make any money on the apple care either. It
all goes to Apple.
If uncomfortable with installing Leopard feel free to speak with a Tech, designated Apple Product
Professional, or request the Apple Certified Tech to do the install for you. It's pretty
straightforward... pop the disk in and follow the prompts.
I'll also add: the Microsoft vendor brought literature and coupons for people buying Office 2004
to receive Office 2008 upgrade for free. You do have to pay $10 for shipping. The purchase must be
made from Nov 1, 2007-Jan 15, 2008.
My guess is Leopard is more demanding on the processor and maybe the ram which would result in
overheating.
Oops nevermind it's Sunday. Sorry I responded too late...
