[DM-MUG] Can't Delete Items From The Trash

If you've ever used the Terminal application in /applications/
utilities, you could type the following:
lsof | grep "Localized.rsrc"
lsof tells you which files are currently open, and in use.
You'll get plenty of results, because Localized.rsrc is a commonly
named file for language text information. Ignore the ones that come
up as /Library/System, and look for one that are prefixed by /.Trash
or something. That will give you a hint about what program you may
have running that's causing problems.
If you boot from another hard drive, and use the finder to click on
'empty trash', you're going to empty the trash of the drive you
booted from, and not the one you were first working on. If both
drives have a trash that are giving the same message, I'd like to
know if one is a clone backup of the other?
You could also try rebooting while holding the SHIFT key down. This
will cause OS X to start in a safe mode setting. From the documentation:
---
Start up in Safe Mode (Only essential Mac OS X items are started.
Some features and applications might not work correctly.)
Hold down the Shift key immediately after the startup tone, and
release when you see the progress indicator (looks like a spinning
gear).
---
Maybe this will prevent whatever's using that trash file from startup
up, and you can empty the trash.
Hope this helps a little.

I have a problem an hope that someone can come up with a solution to
this problem. I have a Mac Pro and I have about 40 files in the trash
that I can not delete. I have tried booting to another hard drive to
delete the files and still get the message "Localized.rsrc in use"
and can not delete. I have tried holding down the option key when I
empty the trash and booting from another hard drive and still get the
same message. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
