"answer back" that it is Windows IE even though it is Opera, Firefox, etc.
Browsers like Safari, for example. Using the Terminal, you can turn on a
"hidden" Debug menu in Safari. Print this email, then quit Safari. Go to
[your hard drive]/Applications/Utilities/Terminal and type the following
command exactly as it appears below:
defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
... then press "Return" and quit the Terminal. When you re-open Safari, a
new "Debug" menu will appear in the menubar. From here, you can select
several "User Agents," including Firefox, Netscape, Internet Explorer (for
Mac or Windows), or Konqueror. Usually I leave the User Agent set to
"automatically chosen" unless there's a specific reason I need to emulate
another browser.
The Debug menu is intended for web designers, to allow them to see what
their work will look like in another browser, without having to install that
browser on his or her machine. I find there are few, if any, pages that I
can't view now because I'm not using Explorer.
Hope this helps. Call me at Haddock if you have any questions.
Peace
CW
