[DM-MUG] Q ref backing up to DVDs a whole bunch of stuff...

I have some images I want to burn to DVD [as an original source 
repository] and they total close to 12G in size.  Do I have to break 
down the burning to the 4.+ size of DVD myself or can I in some way 
just burn the lot of them onto DVDs, letting the comptuer fill up #1 
and then move onto #2 etc....I gather Toast will do that for music 
but what about just images/data that is bigger than a DVD?
