[DM-MUG] Some, not all, apps. on G5 are not opening

i've noted out on an enthusiast board that there are a lot of issues  
with safari beta on a range of machines.
many are going back to their previous versions.

btw, if you haven't used iMovie in a while, you might find it  
impossible to edit in
after installing the latest version of QT.
genius bar folks tracked it down and did an archive instal for me on  
procare,
stopping short of the latest qt.
problem seems to affect only a small number of folks,
but it got me on my rev b imac g5 with all updates current.
