[DM-MUG] iPhone use cuts down on hauling MacBookPro

That's an interesting blog entry. Let me relay a different travel
experience. In July, my family went to Tampa area for a vacation.
The rule was "no computers." So no obsessive checking email and web
sites. Best vacation I've had in a long time.

What inspired this new family vacation rule was a trip we took to
Keystone earlier this year. We were all frustrated because the
internet connection in the condo we stayed at was so hit-and-miss. I
realized then how powerful the addiction was.

Ironically, given your joy over how the iPhone might replace the
laptop while traveling, is another possible "family rule" for next
year. In Keystone I was frustrated by the frequent cell phone
interruptions, and it was suggested that next time we meet this other
family on vacation none of the kids bring their cell phones. We're
going to try and cut out social calling/texting while traveling too.
