[DM-MUG] Making iMovies

I found the presentation last night really interesting.  My wife  
turns fifty on 5 December, and I've been struggling over a special  
gift.  What I might try doing now is to make a "movie" to mark the  
event.

I have approached making long slideshows from either Keynote or  
iPhoto, and then using QuickTime to add a precise sound track.  Last  
night it was obvious to me that iMovie has its roots in QuickTime  
Pro, but has a lot more features available.

As Holly said last night, sometimes you just need to start working  
with the software to figure out how to use it -- but I do appreciate  
her giving me a leg up.  The creative overview was terrific.
