This article got me to the idea that running Help Viewer from within
another application that is accessing a file on another box could be
the problem. Deleting all the preferences for applications that the
user might have run on remote files has resolved the problem.
Any ideas how to "see" the specific request being made and get to a
more elegant solution than blindly deleting preference files?
Thanks, Doug

Even the skeptical mind must be prepared to accept the unacceptable
when there is no alternative. If it looks like a duck, and quacks
like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we
have a small aquatic bird of the family Anatidae on our hands.
