[DM-MUG] Making extra SATA bootable

I have now erased and initialized my SATA drive and want to make it 
bootable = what is the very least I can put on it [assume that I will 
be using Tiger disk to install system on it, right???] to make it 
bootable?  I only want that feature, nothing else.  It's my photo 
etc. disk and while I only want it to hold that, I do want it 
bootable just in case....or do I do the Tiger install on it, then 
delete, Movies, iPhoto etc. and som or all applications???
