[DM-MUG] WMV files

I second Flip4Mac. I was about to purchase it until Macworld. MS
decided that they didn't want to develop WMP for Mac anymore so now
maybe Telestream will do it right. The only issues I've seen so far
is that it doesn't do some online content or DRM through QT just yet.

You probably did read older files using a reader that you've
previously installed, but, there are a lot of issues when playing
differently-encoded media files. Even if you run across an .AVI,
or .WMV, or many other file types, there are *many, many* different
methods of encodings within that type. Just because the player has
played .WMV files before, doesn't mean it will play all of them in
the future.

VLC (videolan.org) and MPlayer (versiontracker) are good
alternatives. Each has its own pros & cons.
