[DM-MUG] FireWire cable ---Feeling Kind of Dumb....

I want to thank those who responded to my question about getting video from a 
Sony Digital 250 camera to iMovie or iDVD.   Now I have another question.   

Instead of the USB cable that I have that plugs from the camera into the USB 
port on the computer (and doesn't get the video out), do I need to get a 
Belkin iLink/iee1394 firewire cable to plug from the camera into the firewire 
port????  I am just learning this stuff.   I think if I can just get it to the 
computer, I can go with it.   Please advise.   And, thanks again for being there 
to support.
