[DM-MUG] Importing from Sony DCR-TRV250 Digital Video Camera

I am hoping someone can point me to a way to make this work.   I have an iMac 
just upgraded to Tiger 10.4.4.   I have iLife 06 coming.   I want to import 
from my Sony digital video camera.   I have an ImageMixer CD but it is only for 
up to OS 9.2.   Is this my only solution to get the video into iMovie?   Or 
are there other alternatives?   Should I install the ImageMixer on my PC at 
school and get a file with the movie in it, then put it on a flash drive to bring 
home and get it into the Mac?   Will that work?   Obviously, anything 
directly into my Mac would be my preference.
