[DM-MUG] ImageWriter II

I have had an Apple ImageWriter II in the basement for years and I 
had it working one. I am trying to get it to work with my 7100 under 
OS 9.1 with little success. I have the extension loading so that it 
shows up in the Chooser. I have it plugged into the modem port since 
I am using Apple Talk for the network. I select the printer, select 
the modem port. Then I try to print a simple text document and after 
clicking on Print I get the message "load the next sheet of paper". 
This continues until I cancel. Any ideas as to what to look for?
