[DM-MUG] Software Freedom Day & Linux installfest 9/10/05

Bryan or anyone else who might know,

I know that these are not exactly Mac questions but the
announcement of the "Linux Install Fest" was posted on the
DMMUG listserv and dose involve Apple hardware.

What type of computer would be appropriate for the Linux
Install Fest?   I have several Apple PPCs that I am not
using and would love to put Linux and a good GUI on one of
them. Or is this strictly for Intel hardware?

Is there a minimum configuration PPC machine to bring? If
one of these would be an appropriate candidate please let me
know.  I could bring a "beige G3" or a 9600 or a Powerbook
3400c.

If no one knows what hardware is appropriate, could someone
please pass along a contact person who might know which
machine I should bring.
