[DM-MUG] iChat AV failures on Mediacom?

FYI, Mediacom seems to be speeding up their local service. A friend
and I have both recently noticed that we're now getting upwards of
500KB per second when downloading. (I recently had 'em out to fix my
service too; the cable hardware here at the townhouse was in need of a
"cleaning". Not sure what the upload speed is (don't do that
much....)
To check the signal, the service tech used the following address in my
web browser:
http://192.168.100.1/
then clicked "signal" in the bar at the top of the screen. NOTE: My
cable modem is a Motorola Surfboard; this advice may not apply if yours
is a different model. Anyway, he looked at the "signal to noise
ratio" in the "Downstream" section at the top, which is 37 dB for mine
now. He said it should be in the mid-to-high 30's or upper 40's.
Below 30 is bad. Something you can check, maybe, to see if your signal
is ok.
