I think [can't be sure] that the iChat thing is=20
something out of SourceForge called "iCAR" and=20
it's neat, but I did not reinstall it when I=20
wiped and installed Tiger and so I don't know how=20
it's still there =3D much less how to uninstall it.
iCAR
the iChat Auto-Reply
http://icar.sourceforge.net/
There are three places you can go for information about iCAR.
* SourceForge.net project page -=20
file releases, the source, bug tracker =8A
* Pygmy Software - developer of=20
iCAR; news on releases, support, and general=20
information =8A
* Capra hircus - weblog of the=20
developer; technical information, progress=20
updates =8A

I walked thru =3D I do NOT have a Reply with Away message anyway set
up. I had checked that before. And I do not have Airport
turned on in my Cube thus there is nothing to be sending
wireless...it's odd...there's no selection method under Network Prefs
or any others that i can think of. I'll keep hunting.
<blockquote type=3D"cite" cite>1) iChat uses the custom away message as
an auto reply, so you need to set that under your name in the buddy
list (where it usually says available with a green dot). Next,
in the preferences, under the general tab, check the box next to
"Reply with Away message".

2) I'm assuming you are meaning connecting to a wireless network.
You need to go to the Network System Preference, choose Airport, then
choose the Airport tab. Next check the box next to "Show
Airport status in menu bar." It should give you a pice
shaped menu in the right side of the menu bar. Clicking on it
will show you available networks that are broadcasting their name.
You should see the "Ultimate" in there. Having this
menu will also make it so you can connect using other wireless
networks in coffee shops.
1. In iChat there is now an Auto-Reply - "I'm out of the
office right now" - it is NOT a custom message under the I chat
buddy list. It is not set in the iChat preferences. but it still
says what it says.
