[DM-MUG] How to add metadata to Mail emails to help with Spotlight
searches.

One reason, of many, that I still use Eudora to get my main
mail is that I can edit the subject lines - so that if an email comes
in saying alot of good stuff but not saying a client's name or topic
for instance, I just open the message and alter subject line = put in
"Smith harassment same-sex" and even if the actual contents of the
email did not include those ideas, it does now. Spotlight so far CAN
identify emails containing search wording but not perfectly yet
[mainly can find the folders they are in, not the messages totally].
Eudora is changing to upgrade to Tiger compatible Spotlight capacity,
but Mail is now that way. If a Mail message had those words in its
body or subject, they'd show up in the spotlight. But, if they did
not, then they would not. So, as with other documents I've mentioned
earlier [where you can Get Info and add metadata in the comments
section] it's easy enough to do this....but I can't figure out how in
Mail.
I sent this feature request in to Apple a year or more ago
and have since then, without results. I can't believe it is
impossible to do, but went into a Message in Mail and ther is nothing
in the menu bar that allows me to do any editting of a Mail message
to accomplish this.
Does anyone have any other ideas??? Yes, I know I can
forward a message back to me with the subject line changed but that
just creates a duplicate message and is, really, more hassle than
just being able to edit a subject line or otherwise add metadata.
Ideas.???
