[DM-MUG] Laptop consideration questions

I've had an iBook G4 933MHz 14" for more than a year and I'm liking
it less and less over time:

1-The ink on the keyboard keeps disappearing and I'm getting close to
getting a second replacement.

2-There's also a crack that's appeared in the bottom left corner that
I've seen appear in exactly the same spot on other people's iBooks
who were equally perplexed at where it came from. It just seems to be
a frame tension weakness of the iBook.

3-The LCD screens on the latest iBooks seem to ripple a little when
you move them slightly. Mine doesn't have that problem. I can imagine
that being hard on the eyes when in a moving vehicle.

4-My iBook doesn't always ground its power supply well. Last fall I
couldn't put it on bare legs (shorts or whatever) because I was
getting a painful trickle of power coming out of the screws on the
bottom. I couldn't figure out if it was the outlet I was using or
what, but it comes and goes depending on where I'm plugged into.

Those are the only things which will discourage me from getting
another one, instead of a Powerbook. It's a great computer that runs
well, but it is a mostly made-of-plastic device and that's gotta be
taken into consideration.

regards,
Darcy
