I am stumped. Main computer (home office, Cube, 10.3.8 and ethernet
conn. to router and cable) and Powerbook, using Airport, connect to
internet just fine, iChat works, Network works, etc.
I went upstairs to use my #2 Cube (also running 10.3.8 and connected
via ethernet) -- I have run Drive 10 and repaired permissions 3+
times and restarted after that. At first all is fine...then.
At first after restart, it will go online and I can get Amazon or
Apple...but then I can't load pages in them. For instance, I can
get the .Mac page and even my Account page...but then when I try to
load Mail, it won't let me do it. [I can log in just fine on
downstairs machine] iChat won't let me go on (Could not communicate
to AIM, specified host name not valid) although iChat on my other
computers works just fine. I've recycled the router upstairs and
changed ethernet cables both to do a direct to basement connection
and also via the upstairs router (Airport gets its signal thru that
upstairs router and that works so I don't think it's the router).
I am trying to set up the upstairs computer so my husband can use
it...it worked last nite. Any ideas on what I am missing????
