[DM-MUG] Filemaker to and from AddressBook?

I have a datafile on FMP7 which has address info etc. and my 
Addressbook - my plan is to change and improve my AB template first 
and after saving the 'old' AB data and working with it in FMP, move 
back into AB as new neat template....-- I want to be able to merge 
them and update them from time to time = sort of like syncing though 
I'm not sure that is possible...there are two possible products to at 
least allow me to export AB and import it into FMP and then work with 
all in FMP and then return clean data back to AB... one is free 
'AB2FM 2.0.3' [$10 sharewaredonation] and the other is a commercial 
product by ProductiveComputing called Address Book Manipulator = for 
$60 -- has anyone used either and do you have any views of this???
