[DM-MUG] extending wireless airport networks in old house?

	I am having a terrible problem getting wireless coverage and 
need help - have cable modem then to Netgear FVS318 router [works 
fine] and then ethernet to the ABSExtreme [tried LAN port first but 
reverted to WAN and it works some] all down in homeoffice Cube in 
homeoffice has airport card and 4 bars pickup of course.....on next 
level [older house] I plugged in Airport Express hoping it would 
extend the range [ABExt range is about 25-30' to the Express] so I 
could use the Powerbook on porch [another 20- feet East] or upon 2nd 
level  -- but the signal is VERY weak. even on 10 feet away ..how can 
I reconfigure to get maximum range???   Would antenna be a good 
idea???  I tried other brand of wireless and it didn't work, wouldn't 
let me do WDS with my Airport[s] -- how to get maximum range is my Q.
