You're probably safe on Mac OS 9 without a firewall, but make sure you=20=
turn off file-sharing and such. Back when I got my cable modem, I=20
opened Network Browser and found another Mac or two on the network. One=20=
particular Mac was wide open, so I dropped a SimpleText document in the=20=
Startup Items folder explaining how a malicious person could have wiped=20=
the machine clean. I'll never know who's machine that was, but I hope=20
he or she took the time to learn how to secure a machine with a 24/7=20
connnection.
