[DM-MUG] iPod/iTunes problem

I recently bought several songs from the iTunes store and when I went 
to move them to my iPod, I got a message saying that my iPod software 
is too old and needs to be updated. Now I've done every update that's 
come down the pike including one within the past week and I still get 
this message. I've bought songs before and have never had any problems.

My iPod is an older 30G model, almost 4 yrs old, top of the line at the 
time. I'm still running Panther 10.3.9 and my iTunes is 6.0.1(3). I've 
considered burning the purchased songs to CD and then loading them back 
in but I don't want to hassle with it and I'm not sure it would even 
work. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
