I checked with a friend who said the minimum for a good picture is 
512k...Mediacom is non-business 256k up and 5mb down...business 
packages are much more expensive but also would work better

checking Qwest DSL the pricing for that is the same as mediacom but 
the speeds are much better, both ways.

which is more important, up or down?  and other than Earthlink and 
Qwest, are there other competitors out there?
