[DM-MUG] (edited) Upgrading from Jaguar to Tiger???

I have upgraded from Jaguar and from Panther to Tiger. In both cases 
I made three bakups to a firewire drive, unmounted them while I did 
an erase and install, then used Migration assistant to retrieve the 
old user data and applications from one of the backups. In the case 
of my wife's iBook this cleared a long standing problem she had.
