Victoria,
It might be a good idea to specify the type of connector's required on your
cable. In my work I use three different cable/connector configurations. 6
pin to 6 pin, 4 pin to 4 pin, and 4 pin to 6 pin.
[1] 6-pin Firewire/IEEE-1394 connector [to] 6-pin Firewire/IEEE-1394
connector -- used to connect my firewire hard drives to a desktop PC.
[2] 4-pin Firewire/IEEE-1394 connector [to] 4-pin Firewire/IEEE-1394
connector -- used to connect my DV Cam to a Dell notebook computer.
[3] 4-pin Firewire/IEEE-1394 connector [to] 6-pin Firewire/IEEE-1394
connector -- use to connect my DV Cam to a desktop PC.
Most likely you can find firewire cables at Bestbuy, CompUSA and Radio
Shack.

I'm looking for short ones - 18"-3' or so....maybe less....is there
anywhere locally they are sold? I've found an internet source but
thought I'd check here.
