For what it is worth my Son said don't take the "Compact Flash memory 
cards"  through the airport xray counters.    It erased his memory card 
and erased all his photos.
You may want to take it out and keep it in your pocket as you check in.

Your computer charger will run on 240 - 120 volts AC at 50 to 60 cycles 
so keeping your computer charged may not be too hard.   Lugging around 
extra batteries can be a pain.
A 12 VDC charger may be an option if you have an auto around.
