[DM-MUG] Need another excuse to upgrade?

I'm having a couple of Tiger install problems.

Last night around 8 pm I began install on my G4 PowerBook.  It took a  
long time (2 hours?), but finally it was time to Restart and begin  
enjoying Tiger.  Three hours later, with the machine still at the  
spinning icon startup stage, I powered off.  Powering on moved me  
through a normal startup, soon after which the OSX assistant began.

The OSX assistant has been trying to connect with Apple for about 8  
hours now.  I'm on the same machine typing this email, so connection  
is not a problem.  I'm not sure what the OS assistant does for me,  
but something's not right.
