For permissions, yes. Any file of any type can lead you to problems 
there. For forks and hidden files, only worrying about data and image 
files, I wouldn't be too concerned. You only need to clone if you're 
need absolute integrity insurance or a bootable volume. A good test, 
although beyond what most would consider performing, is to FTP files 
one machine to another and see what breaks. You might be surprised.
