i have two computers at work. on a network that's moving to
all-windows.
macs are not allowed to move beyond 8.6.
i still find my g3 233 desktop faster, easier, and more reliable than
the dell i've been given with xp
for office apps, outlook, and the system-wide grading program we use in
the dsm schools.
the dell is required for the new access-based student referral system
for sending kids to the vice-principal.
i think it's because i use a mac that i never need to make referrals -
my computer doesn't make me frazzled. i can deal with kids.
one of these years, they'll take away my mac.
then i'll replace my home mac and take my old one to work. they won't
allow me to access their network, but i'll still have a better machine
for Office apps.
