No, using a server-side language won't affect your browser rankings. In
the end you're still just spitting out HTML to the browser. There are
some other things that affect it though, like javascript, super nested
tables, etc. You might want to take a gander at some web resources on
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to see what is good and what is bad to
do.
