I use an iBook for PHP/MySQL development. It's amazing, but Textwrangler, is the *best* free text editor out there and it makes churning out scripts a breeze (syntax coloring, SFTP/FTP open/save , hotkey indenting, regexp searches, emacs emulation, scriptable and more).
The default Terminal performs great too for remote administration.
For MS Office compatibility I use NeoOffice, a Java GUI for OpenOffice. It's data import/export/print support is incredible, is the best handler for CSV data, and makes MS Excel look like a Fisher Price toy.
And if that's not cool enough, attending meetings and then distributing minutes taken in Pages to PDF format to everyone, is just fantastic.
I'm with you guys. I could NOT work as efficiently as I do on a PC. Unless it came with tons of expensive commercial software, and even then, there's a big ease of use penalty. This iBook went from "out of box" to production in a WinNT/Linux environment, in minutes. It could talk to the network, shared printers, VPNs, wireless network and more, right away.
